Lois had retired and daughter Lori stepped in to take over as office manager.īy 1989 the customer base had grown enough to where we needed more space ergo the purchase of our prime location on San Pablo Ave in Berkeley. After working part time through high school son Kevin joined the crew full time after graduation. Bob's wife Lois took care of all the A/P, A/R, payroll, and banking.īy 1975, two short years later Bob had built up a business that was successful enough to buy out Art Tool & Die Works on 60th Street in Oakland. Sons Brian and Kevin joined in through work experience programs during their high school years along with working weekends. Bob continued working full time at Hommel Machine Works in Oakland then would work nights and weekends setting up jobs for son David to work on during the day. It was a great run and we’ll be forever grateful for their service and craftsmanship ❤️ After 50+ incredible years in business it is with heavy hearts that our family has made the difficult decision to close the doors.īob's first shop was opened in 1973, he rented a small building on 26th Street in Oakland.
